Language Arts (4th Grade)

  ABOUT THIS CLASS...

Language Arts class will create a pathway for each student to become an effective communicator by teaching them to demonstrate necessary skills and strategies in reading, writing, oration, and active listening. Students will learn to develop a command of grammar, mechanics, and conventions of composition. Students will also be aided in the development of extensive and appropriate vocabulary, as well as how to demonstrate competencies in aspects of the reading process. Students will recognize language is a gift from God and as such should be used to glorify and serve Him. Students are encouraged to develop a life-long love of learning through reading, discourse, and applying scriptural principles to their studies. Growth in each of these areas will forge a lifelong appreciation for the diversity of human experiences, cultures, values, and an ability to evaluate spoken and written messages for truth.
